Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-17

This Acceptable Use Policy sets the ground rules for doc.page (the "Service"), and in particular for the shareable Doc Links, Spaces and the extraction API. It applies to everyone who uses the Service. Using the Service to do any of the things below is not allowed, and doing so may lead to removal of content and suspension of your account.

Illegal and infringing content

  • Content that is unlawful, or that you have no right to store, share or distribute.
  • Content that infringes someone else's intellectual property, trade secrets or other rights.
  • Using the Service in breach of applicable export‑control or sanctions laws.

Harm to people

  • Child sexual abuse material, or any content that exploits, sexualises or endangers minors.
  • Harassment, threats, bullying, defamation, or incitement to violence or hatred against others.
  • Non‑consensual intimate imagery, or "doxxing" (publishing someone's private information to harm them).
  • Content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism, or serious self‑harm.

Deception, fraud and malware

  • Phishing, scams, or any attempt to deceive or defraud recipients.
  • Impersonating a person, brand or organisation, or misrepresenting your affiliation with them.
  • Distributing malware, viruses, or links that install harmful code.

Privacy of others

  • Disclosing or processing other people's personal data without a lawful basis or the required notice and consent (see our Privacy Notice).

Spam and abuse of sharing

  • Spamming recipients, or using Doc Links, Spaces or email gating for mass unsolicited distribution.
  • Using deceptive link text, subjects or metadata to trick people into opening content.

Fair use of storage

Doc Links and Spaces are for sharing documents with people. "Unlimited" links on paid plans are unlimited in number, not an offer of general-purpose file hosting, and are subject to fair use. The Service applies technical limits (such as a per-document size cap, upload rate limits and version retention), and it is not allowed to use it as a backup target, media CDN, file locker or bulk distribution host. If an account's storage or traffic is far outside normal document-sharing use, we may ask you to reduce it, apply additional limits, or act as described under Enforcement.

Security and integrity of the Service

  • Probing, scanning or attempting to breach the security of the Service or others' accounts.
  • Circumventing authentication, access controls, plan limits, rate limits or usage quotas.
  • Overloading, disrupting or degrading the Service, or automated scraping beyond what the API and your plan permit.
  • Reverse engineering the Service to extract source code or bypass its intended limits (see the Terms).

Enforcement

We may disable or remove any link, Space, document or account that violates this policy, with or without notice, and may report unlawful activity to the authorities. Where appropriate we will try to give notice and an opportunity to fix the issue, but we can act immediately in serious cases (for example, content that harms minors or an active security threat).

Every public document and Space has a "Report" link. You can also email abuse@doc.page. We review reports and act on violations.
